PS Kimtai in talks with members of Mlelo Artisanal Mining Cooperative Society on future of mining in West Pokot

Principal Secretaries Harry Kimtai (Mining) and Joel Arumonyang (Public Works) today met members of the Mlelo Artisanal Mining Cooperative Society Limited from West Pokot County to discuss the future of artisanal mining in West Pokot.

The meeting was attended by West Pokot leaders including Hon. Julius Murgor (Senator), Hon. Samuel Moroto (Kapenguria) and Hon. Peter Lochakapong (Sigor). 

The meeting addressed key topics including mining safety, environmental sustainability and economic empowerment for the West Pokot communities. 

The collaborative effort aims to formalize mining operations, improve infrastructure and ensure that the natural resources in West Pokot benefit its people.
